Drivers Medical

Employers need to conduct driver medicals to DVLA Group 2 medical standards for:

  1. Drivers of large goods vehicles (LGV) or passenger carrying vehicles (PCV) (usually vehicles in excess of 7.5 tonnes’ laden weight or minibuses with more than eight seats)
  1. New licence applicants who wish to drive 3.5 to 7.5 tonne lorries

OH3 conducts these medicals in accordance to DVLA Group 2 medical standards.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends all lift truck operators should have a medical assessment before employment as a fork lift driver, then regularly from age 40.
