Fork Lift Truck Driver Medical

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends all lift truck operators should have a medical assessment before employment as a fork lift driver, then regularly from age 40.

A lift truck operator at the age of 65 and over should probably have annual assessments for fitness.

We would also advise that employer’s assess an employee’s medical fitness to drive if they have been absent from work for more than a month or if they have an illness, injury or have commenced medication that could affect their ability to safely operate lift trucks

The assessment takes approximately 45 minutes to conduct and if you have a number of employees who require assessments we can come to your premises to conduct these medicals if suitable facilities are available or alternatively, you can visit one of our clinics.
